Introducing our next person of Kuwaii – Eilish Gilligan, an incredibly talented producer, singer and songwriter from Melbourne. Eilish is both a solo artist and the frontperson in band Frida, and takes her inspiration from female powerhouses like Bat For Lashes and Kate Bush.
Eilish also happens to be the sister of our recent print collaborator Minna Gilligan, so you can tell creativity runs in their family (and you can read more about Minna here).
Eilish has put together a special playlist for Kuwaii, entitled ‘First Days of Spring’, and she speaks of her inspiration below —
“This playlist is my soundtrack for the first few
days of Melbourne spring, where the ground is
bright green and the sky is deep grey. Freezing
mornings, where your breath pools in clouds, but
the sun has started poking through the dark, and
maybe you’ll be able to wear short sleeves in a
couple of weeks. I hope you find this collection
of songs as healing and powerful as I do!”
